Compact Home Theater Systems: An Ideal Solution for Smaller Rooms

Few years ago, only wealthy people posessing large viewing rooms bought the home theater system. But times have changed and now regardless of the size of the room many people who own their own homes are affordable to buy home theater. There are compact home theater systems which offer great features and smaller, more convenient equipment size. The majority of home theater systems like this come in a package called a home theater in a box. These setups are great because they contain most everything you need for your compact sized home theater.

You will find compact systems to be convenient and affordable. Believe it or not, there are systems that start as low as $200. You can find these all in one systems at home electronics stores like Circuit City, Radio Shack and Best Buy. Even stores like Wal-Mart and Target may have affordably priced theater setups. These boxed sets are small in size to work with small rooms and usually contain five speakers and a DVD/CD player. You simply hook the components up to your television as directed and you're good to go. If you don't like dealing with lots of messy wires, select one of the new wireless home theater setups available.

Your television screen is an important part of your theater system. When many people think of a home theater, they picture a massive fabric screen that takes up a huge wall. While this does make for an incredible home theater, smaller screens can work as well. The traditional CRT type of screen ranges in size up to 40 inches, which is quite large for the average room. If you want a larger screen, go for a flat screen or projection style television. The rule is to position your seating one third of the distance of the size of the screen. A 60 inch screen, for example, would require seating to be positioned at least 20 inches away for the best viewing experience.

Compact home theater systems allow most anyone to experience the excitement of the cinema right at home. If you're in the market for one of these systems, a good first step is to do a little research and find out which features are most important to you. Then, you can look around to get an idea of the systems available with the features you want. Comparing prices and looking around for the best deal can save you a substantial amount of money on your setup. Home theaters don't have to break the bank, and this is nowhere more evident than with today's economically priced compact systems.
